Q1 2021 Performance of Top iOS Shopping Apps in Australia

Shopping apps have become an essential part of the retail experience, especially on mobile platforms. In the first quarter of 2021, several iOS shopping applications stood out in the Australian market. Data from Sensor Tower provides us with insight into their performance.

Google Home saw a downward trend in downloads, starting the quarter with 35 thousand downloads and ending with 16 thousand. Weekly active users also decreased from 200 thousand to 166 thousand by the end of the quarter.

Shop: All your favorite brands experienced fluctuations in downloads, peaking at 19 thousand in early January and then dropping to 15 thousand by the end of March. Weekly active users showed a similar pattern, with a peak of 143 thousand in the first week of January and dropping to 137 thousand by the quarter's end.

SHEIN - Shopping Online had its downloads vary between 16 thousand and 20 thousand during the quarter. However, the weekly active users for SHEIN showed a significant upward trend, starting at 126 thousand and surging to 236 thousand by the end of March.

Amazon Shopping downloads began at 21 thousand and saw a decrease to 12 thousand in the last week of March. The app's weekly active users started at 581 thousand and experienced a downward trend, ending the quarter with 512 thousand.

Lastly, eBay Marketplace: Buy and Sell showed a steady level of downloads, starting at 17 thousand and slightly decreasing to 13 thousand by March end. The weekly active users had a slight decline from 1.4 million at the beginning of the quarter to 1.2 million at its close.
