Q1 2021 Performance of Top Books Apps on iOS in Latin America

In the first quarter of 2021, Latin America's iOS platform saw significant activity in the Books category. Sensor Tower's data showcases how the top applications fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Storytel: Audiobooks & Ebooks experienced a revenue trend that peaked in late February at around $25K, with a slight decline towards the end of March to approximately $18K. Downloads for Storytel showed an upward trend in early March, reaching over 12K before settling to around 10K by the quarter's end. The app's weekly active users saw an increase in late March to approximately 54K.

Webfic-Make Reading Fantastic showed varying revenue with an initial increase to $25K in the first week of January, followed by a decrease to roughly $6K by the end of March. Downloads declined sharply after the first week of January, from over 8K to just above 200 by the quarter's end. Weekly active users also decreased, from around 8K to 5.5K.

For BueNovela & leer novela libro, which was released in mid-January 2021, the downloads surged to over 15K in the last week of January, later stabilizing to about 5K by March's end. The app's weekly active users showed a positive trajectory, growing from under 2K to over 11K in the same period.

Scribd's Everand: Ebooks and audiobooks revenue remained fairly stable, hovering around $11K to $14K throughout the quarter. The app's downloads saw a modest increase in mid-March to nearly 3.7K, and the number of weekly active users peaked in the last week of March at approximately 22K.

Lastly, Dreame - Read Best Romance observed a significant spike in revenue in mid-March to $20K, after which it settled to around $13K. Downloads for Dreame also saw a dramatic increase in the same period, reaching nearly 19K, with weekly active users peaking at over 30K.
