Auto App Trends in Latin America: A Look at the First Quarter of 2021

The automotive app category on iOS has seen varying performance across key players in Latin America during Q1 2021. Data from Sensor Tower provides a glimpse into the download and engagement trends for these apps.

The Copart - Online Auto Auctions app maintained a steady trend in downloads starting at approximately 1.3K in the last week of December 2020 and peaking at around 1.9K in late March 2021. Weekly active users saw an increase from roughly 3.5K to 4.1K in the same period.

Car Scanner ELM OBD2 experienced fluctuations in both downloads and revenue. Downloads peaked at 706 in mid-January and dipped to around 400 by the end of March, while revenue saw a high of $296 in late February before falling to $138 by the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar downward trend, from 416 in early January to 317 in late March.

EOBD Facile: OBD 2 Car Scanner also showed variable performance, with downloads peaking at 562 in early January before dropping to 388 by the end of March. Revenue had its highest point at $434 in late February. Active user counts decreased slightly from approximately 1.3K to 1.2K over the quarter.

The BPme app saw its downloads increase from around 425 in late December to a peak of 662 in late February, then slightly declined to 449 by the end of March. Active user data for BPme is not available.

Lastly, AutoZonePro Mobile downloads remained relatively stable, hovering around the 300s throughout the quarter, with a slight increase towards the end. Weekly active users started at approximately 2.2K and saw a minor drop to just over 2K by the end of March.
