In the first quarter of 2021, the iOS platform saw notable activity within the apparel category in the United States. Sensor Tower provided insightful data on the performance of the top five apparel applications, which we will delve into.
SHEIN - Shopping Online experienced a steady increase in downloads, starting the quarter with approximately 224K downloads in the last week of December and peaking at around 366K by the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar upward trajectory, rising from 3.4M to a significant 6.9M in the same period.
For Nike: Shoes, Apparel, Stories, downloads began at roughly 159K and saw a mid-quarter spike, reaching 175K in the second week of March. The weekly active users started at about 2M and experienced growth, achieving a high of over 2.3M by late March.
GOAT – Sneakers & Apparel had its downloads fluctuating around the 100K mark, with a noticeable increase to 117K in mid-March. The app's weekly active users saw a consistent rise from 2.5M at the end of December to over 2.7M by the end of March.
The performance of Nike SNKRS: Sneaker Release was varied, with downloads starting at about 72K, peaking at 178K in early March, and then dropping to around 66K by the end of the quarter. The app's active users saw an overall increase from just over 1M to approximately 1.4M.
Lastly, ROMWE - Ultimate Cyber Mall showed a positive trend in downloads, beginning with 62K and climbing to over 101K by the quarter's end. Weekly active users for ROMWE demonstrated growth, starting at around 713K and increasing to 776K in the same timeframe.
