The MMORPG genre remains a powerhouse in the mobile gaming industry, and the first quarter of 2021 has seen notable performances from leading games on the Android platform in the United Kingdom. Here, we dive into the data provided by Sensor Tower to understand how these games have fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Starting with Old School RuneScape, the title from Jagex Games Studio saw a peak in revenue during the week of February 22, hitting around $22K, with a subsequent dip to approximately $12K by the end of March. Downloads for this nostalgic favorite peaked in early March at over 1K, but saw a drop to under 600 by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users followed a similar downward trend, from nearly 10K at the year's start to around 7.4K.

Another Jagex title, RuneScape - Fantasy MMORPG, experienced a spike in revenue in late February, reaching over $38K, before settling to about $15K by the end of March. The game maintained a fairly consistent download rate, with a slight decrease from 1.2K at the beginning of the year to 806 in the last week of March. Weekly active users displayed a slight decline from 7.4K to 6.5K over the same period.

Black Desert Mobile by PEARL ABYSS had its revenue peak at over $15K in early March, with a decrease to around $6K by the end of the quarter. Downloads had a significant jump in mid-February, reaching over 1K, but later dropped to 702. The weekly active users mirrored this pattern, peaking at 5.7K in mid-February and then falling to 4.7K.

Forsaken World: Gods & Demons from PERFECT WORLD GAMES (SG) saw its revenue decline from over $17K at the start of the year to nearly $7K by the end of March. Downloads showed a steep drop from 6.9K in the last week of December to a mere 232 by March's end. This game's weekly active users also saw a significant decline, starting at 9.2K and ending the quarter at 811.

Lastly, EVE Echoes by NetEase Games had a revenue peak in the first week of January at over $12K, with a noticeable dip to around $5K in late March, before rising back to approximately $10K in the last week. Downloads and active users both saw a general decline, with downloads falling from 401 to 120, and active users decreasing from 2.8K to 1.9K.
