Auto Applications in Australia: Android Market Q1 2021 Insights

The first quarter of 2021 has shown interesting trends for the top auto applications on the Android platform in Australia. Data provided by Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into the downloads and user engagement of these applications.

BPme, an app by BP Australia Pty Ltd, saw a steady increase in downloads, peaking at 4.3K in the second week of February before stabilizing around 3.4K towards the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, starting at 7.6K in the last week of December and reaching nearly 10K in the second week of February.

Carsguide Autotrader Media Solutions Pty Ltd's app, Autotrader: Find your next car, also experienced growth in downloads, beginning the quarter with 2K and climbing to nearly 3K in early February. However, the data for weekly active users is not available for this app.

Pinecone Software's Petrol Spy Australia witnessed a significant spike in downloads in mid-March, with numbers jumping from around 2.2K to 4.5K. This app's weekly active users saw a peak of 21K in the last two weeks of March, indicating a strong user base.

Google LLC's Android Auto showed a decline in downloads from 2.8K at the end of December to 1.6K by the end of March. However, weekly active users increased substantially from 201K to 262K, suggesting high retention and consistent usage.

Finally, WikiCamps' Fuel Map Australia, the only app in this analysis with reported revenue, had its downloads fluctuate throughout the quarter, ending with 2.3K in the last week of March. Revenue peaked at $162 in the third week of February, complemented by a steady increase in weekly active users, ending the quarter at 9.7K.
