As the fourth quarter of 2020 came to a close, Australia's insurance app landscape saw a range of user engagement across the top platforms. Sensor Tower has provided a snapshot of the performance for the top five insurance applications on the unified platform in Australia, and here's how they fared.
My NRMA experienced a slight decline in downloads from approximately 5.1K in the last week of September to 3.9K by the end of December. Weekly active users also saw a dip from 9.7K to 8.2K in the same period.
The AAMI App, on the other hand, had a fluctuating download trend, peaking at 3.9K in mid-October and settling at around 2.7K towards the year's end. Active user data for the app was not available.
Medibank Live Better showed an interesting download pattern with the numbers spiking to 4.7K in the first week of December from 1.7K at the start of the quarter. However, this surge was not sustained, as the downloads dropped back to 1.6K by the final week.
For ahm health insurance, downloads remained relatively stable, hovering just below 2K for most of the quarter, with a noticeable decrease to 1.2K in the final two weeks of December.
Lastly, NRMA Insurance saw downloads ranging from 1.4K to 1.6K throughout the quarter, indicating a steady demand for the app among users.
