As we wrap up the fourth quarter of 2020, Sensor Tower provides insights into the performance of the top auto applications in the United States. Our data, drawn from a unified platform that includes both iOS and Android, shows the shifting landscape of app downloads, revenue, and weekly active users for these leading applications.
Toyota saw its downloads peak at around 45K in mid-October before experiencing a dip to approximately 29K in early November. Downloads later stabilized around the 37K mark by the year's end. Weekly active users followed a generally upward trend, starting at 184K in late September and reaching over 256K by the end of December.
Android Auto experienced its highest downloads at the beginning of Q4 with roughly 46K, then gradually decreased to about 32K by the end of December. The app's weekly active users showed a more notable decline from approximately 7.1M to 5.6M during the same period.
For Cars.com – New & Used Vehicles, downloads started strong at 37K and saw a slight increase to 39K in October, followed by a gradual decline to nearly 32K by December. Weekly active users saw a decrease from 542K to 499K over the quarter.
