In the final quarter of 2020, Australia's apparel app landscape saw diverse user engagement across leading platforms. Sensor Tower's data provides a snapshot into the download and weekly active user trends for these fashion-forward applications.
SHEIN - Shopping Online maintained a steady climb in downloads starting from 22K in late September to a peak of 34K in late November, before ending the year at nearly 27K. Weekly active users also reflected an upward trajectory, progressing from 210K to over 253K in November, and then slightly dipping to 207K by year-end.
H&M - we love fashion, despite starting the quarter with a modest 2K downloads, surged to 39K in the third week of October. This momentum, however, gradually cooled, closing December with just under 10K downloads. The app's weekly active users mirrored this pattern, peaking at 47K in late November and then settling at 44K in the final week of 2020.
ASOS - Discover Fashion Online experienced fluctuating download numbers, ranging from 10K to 13K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users peaked at over 103K in the third week of November but experienced a decline towards the end of December, finishing at approximately 72K.
Depop | Buy & Sell Clothing showed some variability in its downloads, with a starting point of 9K, a dip to around 7K mid-quarter, and a recovery to 7.2K by the close of the year. Active users reached their highest at over 132K in late November, with a slight decrease to 117K by the end of December.
Lastly, JD Sports observed a download peak of 13K in late November, contrasting with the lower figures of around 6K both at the start and end of the quarter. Active users saw a high of 33K in the final weeks of November, ending the year just below 25K.
