As the fourth quarter of 2020 closed, Sensor Tower provides insights into the performance of the top Utilities apps on the iOS platform in the United States. Here's a snapshot of how these apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
Google maintained a consistent download trend, peaking at nearly 535K downloads in the week of December 7th. The app's weekly active users saw a slight decline from 9.4M at the beginning of the quarter to 9.1M by the end of December.
Google Chrome experienced fluctuations in downloads, with a high of 391K in mid-October and a gradual decrease to 386K by the end of November, before dipping to around 386K by the year's end. The browser's active users hovered around 11M throughout the quarter, ending slightly lower at 10.9M.
Color Widgets saw an impressive start with over 606K downloads in the last week of September, followed by a decline to 112K by the end of December. Revenue started strong at 43K USD in late September but saw a decrease, stabilizing at around 18.5K USD by the end of December. The app's active users started at 1.1M and ended the quarter with 850K.
Fonts showed a steady revenue trend, starting at 24K USD and peaking at 41K USD in late December. Downloads were at their highest in early October at 136K, with a slight increase to 157K by the end of the quarter. Active users for Fonts saw a steady increase from 440K to 511K over the quarter.
Lastly, Microsoft Edge: AI Browser presented a steady download rate, with a notable peak of 214K in the week of December 21st. The browser's weekly active users showed a slight increase from 2.7M to 2.8M over the quarter.
