In the last quarter of 2020, the Utilities category on iOS witnessed significant activity in Latin America. Sensor Tower data offers a closer look at the performance of the top applications in this segment. Here's how they fared:
Google Chrome maintained a consistent download trend, starting the quarter with approximately 134K downloads and peaking at around 145K in late November. Its weekly active users saw a gradual increase, rising from 6.4M at the beginning of the quarter to a peak of 6.7M in late November, before stabilizing around 6.6M towards the end of December.
The Google app experienced a similar pattern in downloads, starting at 127K and reaching a high of 158K in the week before Christmas. Its active user base also increased over the quarter, from 2.6M to a high of 2.8M in late November, before slightly dropping to 2.7M by the year's end.
Sticker.ly - Sticker Maker saw its downloads fluctuate, with a notable spike to 109K in mid-October. Weekly active users for the app peaked at 1.65M in the same period, followed by a downward trend to 1.3M by the close of the quarter.
The e-Título app, designed for electoral purposes, had its most significant download surge in early November with 276K downloads, coinciding with the Brazilian municipal elections. This peak was mirrored in its active users, which spiked to 1.7M in the same week and then dropped to around 71K by the end of December.
Lastly, the Carteira Digital de Trânsito app downloads began at 65K and dipped to 49K towards the end of the quarter. Active users showed more stability, starting at around 367K and rising to 400K in early November, then slightly decreasing to 380K by the quarter's end.
