The final quarter of 2020 brought varying degrees of user engagement and download activity among the top insurance applications on the iOS platform in Europe. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides an interesting glimpse into the performance of these apps, focusing on downloads and weekly active users, as revenue figures remained at zero for this period.

UnipolSai - Assicurazioni, with its roots in Italy, observed a fluctuating download trend in Q4, starting at roughly 7K in late September and dipping to approximately 5K in early November, before surging to over 9K towards the end of the month. The weekly active users started at around 14K and saw a peak of over 16K in late November, ending the quarter with 13K active users.

Across the Channel, Cuvva from the United Kingdom experienced a gradual decline in downloads from 6K in late September to a low of approximately 4.4K in early December. However, it managed to slightly recover to around 4.7K by the year's end. The app's weekly active users showcased more stability, maintaining a base of approximately 12K to 13K users throughout the quarter.

Another UK-based app, Hastings Direct Insurance, showed an initial increase in downloads, peaking at over 6K in late October, followed by a gradual decline to 3.7K by December. The weekly active users for Hastings Direct peaked at approximately 17K in late October but saw a drop-off, finishing the quarter with nearly 16K active users.

Admiral Insurance had a notable start with approximately 14K downloads at the end of September but experienced a sharp decline to around 3K by late December. The app's weekly active users mirrored this trend, with a significant drop from nearly 19K to just under 10K by the end of Q4.

Lastly, Harmonie & moi from France saw its downloads vary, with an initial drop from 3.3K in late September to 2.2K by December. The app's active users, however, showed more resilience, with numbers hovering between 17K and 20K throughout the quarter, suggesting a solid user base despite fewer new downloads.
