As the year 2020 came to a close, the insurance app market in Australia saw interesting trends in terms of downloads and user activity on the iOS platform. Sensor Tower's data gives us a glimpse into how these apps performed during the fourth quarter.
My NRMA saw a decrease in downloads from 3.4K in the last week of September to 2.3K by the end of December. Weekly active users also showed a declining trend, starting at 6.3K and dropping to around 5K by the year's end.
The AAMI App, another key player, had its ups and downs with downloads peaking at 2.4K in mid-October and then fluctuating before ending the quarter at approximately 1.5K. No data is available for weekly active users of the AAMI App.
Medibank Live Better experienced a significant spike in downloads in the first week of December, reaching 2.3K, which was more than double the figures from the previous months. However, this surge was short-lived as downloads settled back to just under 850 by the close of the quarter.
For NRMA Insurance, downloads remained relatively stable in Q4, with a slight increase from 967 in late September to 1.2K in the final week of December. The trend for this app was more consistent compared to its counterparts.
Lastly, ahm health insurance showed a gradual decrease in downloads throughout the quarter, starting at 1.1K and dipping to 776. Similar to the AAMI App, there is no available data on weekly active users for ahm health insurance.
