In the fourth quarter of 2020, the shopping category saw varied performance across top applications on the Android platform in the United States. Sensor Tower provides a closer look at the trends in downloads, revenue (where applicable), and weekly active users.

OfferUp: Buy. Sell. Letgo. experienced a decrease in downloads, starting the quarter with approximately 159K and ending with around 130K. Weekly active users also showed a declining trend, from 2.27M in late September to 2.03M by the end of December. The app's revenue remained relatively stable, with minor fluctuations around the $120K mark.

The AlfredCamera Home Security app showed an increase in downloads from about 16K in the last week of September to roughly 24K by the end of December. Active users grew from 154K to 175K in the same period, with revenue seeing a slight uptrend, finishing at just over $16K.

HotStock - in-stock alerts, a newcomer with a release date in late November, saw a significant surge in downloads, peaking at around 18K in the third week of November. Weekly active users mirrored this peak, reaching approximately 32K in the same week. Revenue for HotStock displayed a gradual increase, ending the quarter at about $3K.

Buy and sell - Marketplace had a more stable quarter, with downloads fluctuating between 4.5K and 5.2K. Active users showed a slight increase, starting at 5K and ending the quarter at 5.4K. Revenue for the app also saw a modest rise, ending at roughly $2.5K.

Lastly, Yard Sale Treasure Map witnessed a decline in both downloads and active users. Downloads fell from 2K at the beginning of the quarter to under 400 by the end, while active users dropped from 2.7K to just over 1K. Revenue trends followed a similar downward trajectory, concluding at about $1.2K.
